Communication is an essential part of church life. Methods used range from simple word of mouth, internal notice boards, printed information, telephone, letter, fax, e-mail and a web-site. Welcome LeafletsLeaflets are available in the entrance lobby, giving general information aimed especially at newcomers. Take AwayA weekly leaflet given to all attending church on Sundays and available throughout the following week. Copies are also taken to many of those who are unable to attend on a regular basis. It contains essential diary information and general announcements, about major events such as re-ordering of the Church, Alpha Courses, Youth Leaders involvement, Norbury Walkers and Thank you notes. MagazineThe monthly church magazine contains a wealth of information. Besides advertising local businesses, there are feature articles by the clergy, PCC Jottings, information on training opportunities, Christian charity details, and Mothers' Union, Men’s Society, Social Committee, Church Fellowship, Cricket and Bowling Club reports. It reaches nearly 650 a month and is circulated locally as well as by post nationally. Worship ArrangementsA monthly list of services with names and duties of those involved both in the service itself and in support activities. Web SiteA comprehensive web site (www.norburypc.org.uk) updated monthly featuring information about Norbury Church. Most material is also published in the parish magazine. Annual Church MeetingThe annual church meeting takes place in April of each year. Here, the clergy, church wardens, PCC and other members of the church present published reports to the whole church. Members meet to listen and discuss finance, present and future aspects of church life, besides the election of various posts. It is at this time many questions and answers take place to produce a healthy church environment for the future. |
