We are a Christian community, seeking to deepen our faith and share the Good News of Jesus Christ. We believe that prayer is the foundation on which all our aims are built.

Objectives

A: Relationships with God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit

  1. Worship: In our worship we aim to glorify God and enable people to meet with him in an accessible way.
  2. Commitment: We commit ourselves to following Jesus as a priority. We believe that this means encouraging each other to meet regularly in fellowship, and to work out how our faith relates to each area of our lives.
  3. Giving: We encourage generosity in giving, and the appropriate use of our gifts, at work and leisure, as well as in church activities.

B: Relationships within Norbury Church

  1. Relationships: We aim to create a caring community, in which we accept and support one another and offer the love of Christ to all.
  2. Growth: We encourage a thirst for growth as a church, and we believe that implies that our teachers should be properly equipped and supported. We encourage individuals to grow as Christians, and to explore different ways of learning.
  3. Management: We believe that good management and appropriate structures are essential if we are to fulfil the above aims, and that this involves openness in decision-making.
  4. Mutual Support: We will support each other, even when we fail in our stated aims.

C: Relationships to the community at large:

  1. Outreach: We aim to develop the opportunities for outreach open to Norbury as a parish church, and to encourage each other personally to share our faith.
  2. Wider Responsibilities: We aim to make practical connections between our faith and our community - local, national and global, and to ensure that we have a broad support base for our mission partners.
  3. Churches Together: As members of the one Body of Christ, we will worship, work and witness with our partner churches in Hazel Grove.
