Next MeetingOur next meeting will be on Monday 6th October; the speaker is Mr Malcolm Brothers, talking about Weights, Measures and Balances. The 10.15am service on Sunday 5th October will include our Re-affirmation. Autumn Bedding Plant Sale. 4th October.PRE-ORDERED plants from our Autumn Plant Sale will be ready for collection on Saturday 4th October between 9am and 12noon. Roy Hopkins Our AimsWe are a group of about 20 members. Each month we have speakers on various topics of interest, we run two plant sales and coffee mornings per year. We play an annual bowls match and we have an annual men’s walk and a meal. We meet in the Legh Room on the first Monday evening of the month, commencing at 8.00pm. Please see Jim Garfitt, Ken Watts, Norman Broadbent, Roy Hopkins or John Bennett, any of whom will be pleased to introduce you to the Society, and the rest of the members will make you most welcome. Young People of Stockport - Past and PresentThis is an exhibition of photographs; certificates and other memorabilia showing how some of our young people fill in their time when not at school, or working. The exhibition is open in the Legh Room as follows:
It has been confirmed that the Worshipful Mayor of Stockport, (Cllr. Pam King) will attend at 11am on Saturday 8th. Please do come along and support the event. Pantonic All Star Steel OrchestraAt 7.30pm on Saturday 8th November the orchestra will be playing in the church, which we hope to fill. This event is in aid of the Tree House which is the children's department in Stepping Hill Hospital. We hope to raise at least £450. It has also been confirmed that the Deputy Mayor and Mayoress (Cllr. Mike Wilson and Mrs Jacqueline Hawkins) will be attending the concert. Tickets for the concert will cost £4.50, or two for £8.00 and are obtainable from members of the Men's Society, from the church office or from Mr G. Egginton, 30 Dean Lane, Hazel Grove.
