Website

The PCC were given several website homepage designs to look at and we have chosen one that is clear and easy to read and follow, even for the least technical ones amongst us. We have also chosen a church logo. At the next PCC meeting, we shall be having a look at a draft of the new website itself.

East Window

So far the appeal for the windows stands at £3550, which is encouraging. There are a number of fund-raising events planned, and Trevor is looking at the possibility of being able to claim back some of the VAT.

Lighting

Some of the lights in the Narthex have been replaced, and it is good that no significant difference has been noted by anyone!!! Twenty-four lights in the Legh Room need replacing because it is quite dark at times and, for reasons of health and safety, as soon as possible.

Prayer

We discussed ways in which we could all be encouraged to both pray more and get involved in prayer activities at church. Prayer is our main form of communication with God and, like communication in any relationship, it needs working on! Meetings are being planned to talk further about the prayer life at Norbury. Our prayer week this year is 20-26th May, leading nicely up to Pentecost.

Alpha

The course is under way; we discussed the possibility of having an afternoon Alpha Course for those who are unable to come out in the evening. There is currently quite a team of co-leaders being built up to help at future Alphas.

Finance

A budget has been agreed and, sadly, a shortfall has been predicted. Trevor is going to look at ways of encouraging people to Gift-Aid all of their giving. Even if you do not give on a regular basis, gifts (by tax-payers) that are Gift-Aided enable the church to claim back money from the government - and that can only be a good thing!
