A Welcome Committee has been formed to look at how we can improve the welcome to people attending the church for the first time. One improvement already in action is for Welcome Stewards to meet up after the service with newcomers, to take them into the Legh room for tea and coffee and to introduce them to other members of the congregation.

The PCC reviewed the budget for 2007 submitted by the Treasurer that reflected the trend of lower income from collections and donations. The estimated income of £183K was more in line with the actual income received in 2006. However, the budgeted expenditure at £202K reflected expected inflationary increases that may result at the end of 2007 in an estimated deficit of £19K. There was much discussion as to how we could focus each member of the church to consider their giving and it was agreed to take up the offer of help from the diocese with motivation for a giving initiative.

After some discussion it was agreed to increase the working hours for the Youth Worker by 2.5 hours per week.

The PCC agreed to hold the Annual General Meeting of the church, now known as the Annual Parish Meeting, after the morning service on 22nd April. Moving away from the traditional evening meeting would, it was thought, enable more people to attend.

The Holiday Club this year will be held on the 13th to 17th August with the theme being Monster Stink. We were pleased to note that a core team is already in place.

There was further discussion on the proposals for developing worship and it was decided and to be responsive to certain changes that could be made to the morning service such as Celtic and reflective liturgy.

Other matters discussed included risk management, health & safety and insurance issues.
