Thank you letter from CAREThank you so much for the recent generous gift from Norbury Parish Church. We really depend on the faithful prayers and financial support of friends like you to continue our work, so we are very grateful for your help at this time. In Westminster, CARE is lobbying and supporting MPs on the dangerous developments in the use of embryonic stem cells. CARE is also working at national and international levels to stop the trafficking of women and children for sexual exploitation, reduce levels of prostitution and provide care for the victims. We are also very concerned about the impact that gambling, especially internet gambling, has on families and in particular children. With your prayerful help we would like to build on the success of the House of Lords' recent decision, by undertaking research and assisting MPs to prevent attempts to further erode family welfare. CARE exists to support you as you seek to be salt and light in your community. For many of us the complexity of the challenges we face can be daunting. We have therefore recently appointed a new Development Officer for England, whose role is to equip the Church to engage with those challenges. He, together with the Development Officers in Scotland and N. Ireland, would welcome hearing from you if you would like a speaker at an event. We would really value your prayers for God's continuing protection and guidance. If it is appropriate for you, do visit our website for regular updates on current issues and resources (www.care.org.uk). |
CARECARE stands for
Issues such as human cloning, abortion, euthanasia, moral standards, marriage and the family are constantly in the news causing great concern to us all. We are grateful to God for CARE's Christian influence within our political institutions, the media, education and other areas of our national life. We also thank God for the privilege of working in the community: reaching out to women facing crisis pregnancies, providing foster families for children in need, supporting teachers and providing resources for schools. We believe the Church can make a substantial difference to our communities and we pray that God will use CARE's special events, publications and projects to increasingly inspire and equip Christians to pray, speak out and become involved in society. If there are any ways CARE can help you or your local church, please do not hesitate to contact us. Or you can log on to www.care.org.uk for ideas, inspiration and information. |
