During our Harvest Service, Keith Harris gave us an insight into the work and aims of TEAR Fund. He also showed us a film featuring a family, Mol and Tol and their four children, from Angkalanh in southern Cambodia. Their lives had been transformed through TEAR Fund’s partner, Wholistic Development Organisation (WDO), working through the local church. By working in this way with the whole community, discussing their problems, their needs and their hopes, and providing expert and practical support, they had helped to grow a better future for the families in the area: one where crops grew all the year round so that they were better protected from hunger should the rains fail.

During the week before Harvest and the week after, the children in Sunday Club learnt the difference between their lives and that of two of Mol and Tol’s children and how they had been given hope.

The retiring collection after the Harvest Service raised £468.22 for TEAR Fund’s project in Cambodia. Many thanks to all who contributed.
