Bible Study - Ephesians 6:10-20

Read Ephesians 6:10-20
What a powerful message: Put on the Armour of God. The protection for a believing Christian is like a soldier wearing armour for protection in war. We put on the Armour of God so we can stand fast in our faith, fully protected from the evil forces of darkness.
We put on the belt of truth around our waist, the breastplate of righteousness and take up the sword of faith, which is the word of God, as we put on the helmet of salvation.
Our feet fitted with readiness that comes from the Gospel of peace.
Now as we stand firm in our faith so well protected, we are ready for action. We can pray in the Spirit, on all occasions, with all kinds of prayers and requests. We are instructed in verse 18 to keep on praying for all the saints. Who are the saints? I believe the saints are all who have died and gone before us in faith, firmly believing in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
As this is the concluding reading of this series of studies, please re-read this passage slowly and deliberately, letting it speak to you personally.
To think about
1. What is this passage asking me to do?
2. Do I want to carry out the instructions given to me in verse 18.?
Prayer
Lord help me to live my life as a practising Christian, standing firm in my faith, wearing the whole armour of God in spirit and in truth, praying all kinds of prayer, and making my requests known to you. May I grow day by day stronger in faith, in the knowledge of your unending love for me. Amen
Hymn 533 Hymns for Today's Church
Soldiers of Christ arise and put your armour on
Strong in the strength, which God supplies
through his eternal Son.
