Bible Study - Acts 13: 13-52

Read Acts chapter 13 verses 13-52
Paul continues his journey and arrives at the Roman colony of Pisidian - a busy and thriving city with a large Jewish community at the centre of good roads and trade. Paul goes to the synagogue which provided a ready made preaching venue, with a building and regular meetings.
Paul preaches using what the people already know to be true, and takes them on to the truth of Jesus (verse 38) Paul warns them that they are no saved by the 'Law' of Moses. Romans 10 verse 4 says " Christ is the end of the law so that there maybe righteousness for everyone who believes" Paul says the Gospel is for all - 'children of Abraham and God fearing gentiles' In verse 48 we read "when the Gentiles heard this they were glad and honoured the word of the Lord; and all who were appointed for eternal life believed" This suggest human faith and divine appointment. God's grace and our response. There is free will to accept or reject the Good News.
In Luke 9 verse 5 Jesus tells his disciples "if you are not accepted, shake the dust of your feet and move on" so the disciples go to Iconium filled with joy and the Holy Spirit.
