Operation Christmas Child
This project is now in its fifth year here at Norbury thanks to the generosity and care of our church members, their families and many friends who support us.
We have 250 boxes already waiting to be filled, they are prepared and wrapped in Christmas paper by our dedicated shoe box team, who have been meeting most Saturday mornings since February.
We are such a happy band of workers and we are always ready to welcome more members onto the team, so if you are interested please come along and see what we do. We start to meet in September after our summer break, 9.30am-12 noon most Saturdays.
There is a big blue bin in the narthex in which you can place your gifts for the shoe boxes. Please put your gifts into the bin knowing that you are sending your love and care with your gifts to a very needy and vulnerable child who will be able to smile again.
The knitters have already been hard at it and supplies of hats, mitts, scarves and gloves are mounting up each week. A big thank you goes to our dedicated knitters.
We do ask for your prayers for this project to continue, and for prayers for the workers, collectors, distributors, drivers, and most of all for the children who will receive your gifts. Many thanks to you all for your help.

At the moment the shoe box team would be grateful for any of these items to fill the boxes:
- note books,
- erasers/rubbers,
- colouring pictures,
- facecloths,
- soap,
- toothbrushes,
- hair brushes,
- combs,
- bobbles and fancy hairclips,
- toys such as dolls and jewellery for girls,
- cars and similar for boys,
- tennis balls and small bouncy balls,
- small games and puzzles,
- cuddly toys which will fit into the shoe boxes.
Strictly nothing to do with war please, and no marbles because when they clash together it reminds children of gunfire.
