Training Opportunities

Why Train?

Training, along with the many other aspects of ministry and fellowship in the church, is an important element in the development and growth of individual members and of the membership as a whole, whether or not they have any special responsibilities. You are all encouraged to undertake training run by the Chester Diocese for your need. A wide range of subjects is available.

Whatever you are involved in at Norbury, there is almost certain to be a training course for your particular interest - courses in personal development, courses to help strengthen your faith, counselling courses, training for work with children and teenagers, and teaching about the workings of the Church of England and its hierarchy.

At Norbury we try to ensure that if you need training, we will do our best to find the right course for you.

Selecting the Course

There is a file at the back of the church with leaflets about the various courses available for your perusal. A Training Round Up magazine published by COMET (Committee for Ministry, Education and Training) is also available. Please look at these and if I can be of any assistance in locating a course for you, or if you become aware of other courses that may be of interest, please let me know.

Foundations for Ministry

The Foundations for Ministry course continues to run and has been made even more accessible, particularly to those who feel a bit apprehensive, or who may not have studied for sometime.  The tenth course begins with an induction day on Saturday 22 September 2007.  The course is ideal for anyone in your parish who may be looking towards furthering their ministry, or for discernment as to the way ahead.  The deadline for applications is 30 July 2007.  Application forms and information are available from Gerri Tetzlaff at Church House 01244 620444 or email gerri.tetzlaff@chester.anglican.org
