St Luke's gospel Chapter 11 verses 1-13, contains some of Jesus' teaching on prayer. In verse 9, we are told to ask, and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

This is something that the members of the prayer chains have found to be true during the past 15 years, as they have prayed for many different people and situations. These have included people who are ill, those undergoing surgery or facing difficult situations, job interviews, those seeking God's guidance and youth activities.

Each prayer request is treated in strictest confidence and the details are given only to the other members of the prayer chain so that they can pray for the situation. A prayer request can just give someone's name, or supply a few more details, for example, that the person is in hospital/has a job interview.

The morning prayer chain consisting of 6 people, is co-ordinated by Ann Smith, and is activated at approximately 9.30am each morning, when details of any requests for prayer are passed to each person on the prayer chain.

The evening prayer chain has 11 members and is co-ordinated by Jean Wilkes who activates it at approximately 6.30pm each evening.

If you would like members of one or both prayer chains to pray for a person or situation, or are interested in joining a prayer chain, please contact Ann Smith on 0161-487 1838 or Jean Wilkes on 01625-874 904.
